NASB | 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word--He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]. |
Bible Question: What verse is best for a teenager that is trying to live a christian life? |
Bible Answer: Andyamanda66: Proverbs 3:5 is good to know, for a young Christian or an old one: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding." But please don't stop there. The Bible says, "Thy word have I hidden in mine heart that I might not sin against thee." [Psalm 119:11]. Form the habit of reading a portion of God's Word every day. Read the Bible in a systematic way, a book at a time. Pray, and ask God to illumine His word for you. Commit favorite passages to memory. Saturate your heart and mind with the eternal truths of Scripture, which is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. [Cf.2 Timothy 3:16]. By the way, the word translated as "inspiration" means literally that the Bible is "God-breathed" -- the words that the human writers penned were supernaturally directed by Almighty God, and thus the Bible records with perfect accuracy God's revelation of Himself to man. I pray that God will lead your path as you continue to walk in faith in Christ Jesus. --Hank |
