AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 1:2 ¶ To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified (set apart, made holy) in Christ Jesus, who are selected and called as saints (God's people), together with all those who in every place call on and honor the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours: |
Bible Question: The beginning of Paul's letters to the church's all state a similar thing. "To the Saints". What made a man a Saint? Were the letters only to the Saints, or to the entire congregation at that church? |
Bible Answer: Paul is writing his letters to different bodies (churches) of believers on different issues they need to address. In 1 Corinthians 1:2, Paul begins this to the "church of God in Corinth." If you are a Christian, you ARE a saint. The two words are synonomous with each other. Hope this answers your question. :) |
