AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Corinthians 1:2 ¶ To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified (set apart, made holy) in Christ Jesus, who are selected and called as saints (God's people), together with all those who in every place call on and honor the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours: |
Bible Question: Sanctification a process yes or no by what scripture. Some say the fact of sanctification is a process not yet completed. Some say we are complete in Him and we are delivered from the power of sin and are in fact sanctified right now if we will receive it by faith. |
Bible Answer: We must make the difference between sanctification as a process in our daily life and sanctification as a synonym of justification in a sense the day we are born again. In that latter sense, yes we are complete in the sense that, in the eyes of God, we are transformed in a new creature (2 Cor. 5.17) and we have passed from darkness to light (Act 26). But, as a matter of daily life, we must walk in sanctification in order to accomplish what God waits from us. In other words, sanctification is already done in the dimension of who we are before God, but it is always to be done in the dimension of what we do. |
