Bible Note: "The belief that most people hold to is that God loves everybody and wants to save everybody. But He has given man a free will, and cannot save a man unless that man, of his own free will, decides to let God save him. If that is true... The Bible says… 1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable before God our Savior, 1Ti 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to a full knowledge of truth. "The Scriptures are mistaken when they describe man as dead in sins. Straw Man. This does not mean that God cannot present the Gospel, and man receive it. In fact, that’s exactly what the Scriptures say happens. "God is not sovereign. His will is subject to man's will. – Straw Man It’s God’s choice for man to make a choice. "Praying to God for the salvation of sinners is a mistake. We should be praying to men to use their will to let God save them. – Yet another Straw Man We pray to God because He’s the one who convicts the sinner. If its all predetermined, why pray at all? "Salvation is not dependent upon God, but man. God offers salvation to all, not just to some. Its up to man to receive it. But there would be no salvation without God. "Man gets a portion of the credit in salvation. Do you take credit for becoming rich if you give your account number to Donald Trump and he fills up your account??? Seems silly to me! "Salvation cannot be said to be one hundred percent grace. Man's will is the key that unlocks the grace of God. Grace cannot work unless man turns the key. – Straw Man Grace is grace is grace. A gift is still a gift even if its only given to the willing recipient. "God's will has no say in the ultimate destiny of the sinner. In reality, God's will is meaningless in the salvation of the sinner. The will of man controls his own destiny. This is repetative. God wants all to be saved. "The death of Christ was at best a gamble, dependent upon the will of man, and in reality a failure, because many He died for are lost anyway. Not a failure! He died for you, and you are His! He loves you that much! "The security of the believer hinges on his own will. Salvation is given to the willing recipient. After that, salvation is sure. Thank God '...it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God...' (Romans 9:16 ESV) The believer prefers Free Grace over free will!" --Rev. Todd Nibert – Straw Man – not mutually exclusive! Compare these to what the Bible says. Don’t just listen to me, or any other man. Listen to the Bible. |
