Bible Note: Jeff, If there are no new seedlings, there wouldn't be any church. I believe the teaching of children is THE ministry of the church. I do not like to see them shuttled off into only playing games and watching cartoons. My fondest memory as a child was a radio program my mother found that had the stories of the old testament dramatized. I can remember trying to stay at the door as long as possible to hear the end of the story then having to run to get to school on time. I was about seven at the time and God was already planting seeds of faith in my heart by the teaching of his word. In Matt it tells us the three fold ministry of Jesus was teaching, preaching and healing. I find it interesting that the teaching always comes first. Children can learn the deepest meaning of scripture if it is given to them on a basis they can relate to in their young years. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |
