Subject: What happens to one who commits suicide? |
Bible Note: John You absolutely right! We don’t know exactly how God views suicide. But we do know His view of Sin and we know taking a life is sin. And since the flavor of this thread seemed to be headed toward the point of view that it would be possible to commit suicide and enter heaven I felt it nesscary to present this opposing view. In the past I have talked to more than one teenager that has confided in me the only reason they did not commit suicide was their fear of eternal damnation. Later as they matured and the emotions and hormones died down suicide was no longer an option. God's grace now gave them meaning in their lives and God had shown them their true value. Again most if not all restated that one of the major factors that prevented them from carrying out the act was their belief that suicide would condemn them to hell. I know there are people looking for answers to life's questions viewing this forum. People that are looking of an okay to take their lives. As you stated the salvation of a person is really between God and that person all we can do offer that person a better way to stay in God’s will. To show them it is God’s desire for them to live and accomplish God’s plan in their life. Yes even make them question if they can be saved and still commit suicide. I think this is definitely better than saying salvation is between you and God if you think God will allow you to kill yourself and still be saved knock you socks off. Don't you? I didn’t respond as I did to disillusion anyone that might have lost a friend or love one due to suicide. Truthfully we don’t know that persons state of salvation. However for anyone considering suicide it is the responsibility of everyone of us to clearly state this is not God’s highest of best for them, that they place themselves in harms way and in danger of eternal damnation.
