AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 8:26 ¶ In the same way the Spirit [comes to us and] helps us in our weakness. We do not know what prayer to offer or how to offer it as we should, but the Spirit Himself [knows our need and at the right time] intercedes on our behalf with sighs and groanings too deep for words. |
Bible Question:
I have a question about prayer. I pray in tongues and in the natural and this scripture talks alot about the holy spirit helps our weakness for we know not what to pray. Praying in tongues is praying Gods perfect will, the holy spirit knows everything. I hope this is not a crazy question. When I pray do I have to call out someones name before praying in tongues, example: when I pray for my family, church, etc do I have to call out there names one by one and then pray in tongues? I do a lot of praying in tongues around the house especially when I'm cleaning or cooking and sometimes I don't pray in the natural at all but I want to cover everyone in prayer(family, children, etc). I hope I got my question across. Thanks for all your help |
Bible Answer: The context of Romans 8:26-27, starts in vs 20 or even sooner. 8788, greetings Moreover, this passage is not about praying in a tongue ... it is about the Spirit who intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. Also, I wonder if you pray while doing other activities, how much of you does God have. Lastly, tongues in the Bible is always a known language ... expect when Paul was mocking the Corinthians about their copying the pagan estatic speech (1 Cor 14). Searcher |
