Subject: Spirit, soul and body? 1 Thess 5:23 |
Bible Note: Greetings JVHO212! LIke you, I have often wondered about the distinction between soul and spirit. The best view that I have found thus far, is that BODY plus Spirit equals SOUL. This view is based on Gen. 2:7 (KJV) which says, "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." This view has one very appealing aspect, it's ability to explain the connection between body and spirit. Scripture is clear that we are meant to be both body and spirit. We were created that way. After the resurrection, our body and spirit will be rejoined. Like you, I have heard many theories, but this is the one that I am comfortable with at this time. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
