Bible Question (short): Romans 6:7, does it apply to all people? |
Question (full): I have two questions concerning the book of Romans and other letters from Paul. During a Bible study with two friends. I was told that Romans Chapter 6 verse 7 applies to all men (or people), but I believe it applies to all Christian believers in keeping context with Paul speaking to believers. What is the correct interpretation? My second question also deal with the context of Romans and other letters from Paul. Out of the same discussion, I was told that Paul's letters were actually directed toward God's elect, whose being the 144,000 virgin martyrs mentioned in Revelation. And that we as other believers merely benefit from Paul's teaching. Now that I think about that discussion, I recall that it was mentioned that the elect are not necessarily virgins in the carnal sense, but that they are "spiritual" virgins. I asked what does that mean, and they said that they were not defiled spiritually. I don't get that! Sorry of the long explanation, but can you clarify these things for me? I would greatly appreciate it. Peace, joy and Love, Michael |
