NASB | Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 6:1 What shall we say [to all this]? Should we continue in sin and practice sin as a habit so that [God's gift of] grace may increase and overflow? |
Bible Question: when a xtian commits the same sin over again and keeps asking for forgiveness, does God keep forgiving that sin? |
Bible Answer: I am not sure about a xtian, but a follower of Christ will not continue sinning knowing what it cost the Lord. We sometimes fall knowing 1 John 1:7 But if we [really] are living and walking in the Light, as He [Himself] is in the Light, we have [true, unbroken] fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses (removes) us from all sin and guilt [keeps us cleansed from sin in all its forms and manifestations]. 1 John 1:8 If we say we have no sin [refusing to admit that we are sinners], we delude and lead ourselves astray, and the Truth [which the Gospel presents] is not in us [does not dwell in our hearts]. 1 John 1:9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action]. so we get up and continue in the Love of God, knowing we are not our own, but bought with a great price 1 Cor 6:20 |
