Bible Question: God and David., Why do you think God was in favor of David so much as his Character or to show us God will heal and forgive us of our sins? List some of these Blessing that God gave to David? Thanks..in my Study as of David. thanks. |
Bible Answer: Dear Grace, God is always "in favor" of His chosen ones. That is the nature of grace. There is nothing in the object of His grace that merits God's goodness toward them, rather it rests entirely in the free grace, divine provision, and goodness of our God. Let me cite you some quotes from a few Godly men that might bring this Scripture truth into greater clarity: "The nature of the Divine goodness is not only to open to those who knock. but also to cause them to knock and ask." --Augustine "Christian! the only thing that makes you differ from the vilest being that pollutes the earth, or from the darkest fiend that gnaws his chains in hell, is the free grace of God!" --Octavious Winslow "Grace is not like a box of candy that you can send back if you don't want it. Grace is divine favor, an attitude of God's own heart. We cannot stop Him from loving us, if He chooses to do so. Nor can we stop Him from giving us blessings of salvation: regeneration, justification, adoption, sanctification, glorification. His purpose in us will certainly be fulfilled, Philippians 1:6, Ephesians 1:11." --John Frame In Him, Doc |
