Bible Question:
I am looking for a verse that deals with speaking things that are not as though they are. Can someone tell me where this is? |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Rom 4:16-17, Heb 11:9-10 ... saucy, God's day to you and welcom to the forum. This is a misquote of Romans 4:17. In the context of the verse, God speaks things that are not as though they are. God can speak things that are not and then they exist in heaven and on earth. We can only speak those things that we see the Father doing. We cannot force God's hand ... we need to do His will. Abraham was choosing to see what God said was true in heaven, and then he sought to speak those things. Abraham was not trying to create his own city, then expect God to bless it ... Abraham was looking for a city whose architect and builder is God (Heb 11:10). Hope this helps, Searcher |
