AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 3:25 whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving] sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation (propitiation) by His blood [to be received] through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness [which demands punishment for sin], because in His forbearance [His deliberate restraint] He passed over the sins previously committed [before Jesus' crucifixion]. |
Bible Question: Ok were the people before Christ died for sins, were these people condemed? And why did Christ have to die, was it because of the prophits wrote. |
Bible Answer: God's day to you maryanneoke, and welcome to the SBF, Read Hebrews 11 to read some of those who died with their faith in the future, in the Lord. In Luke 16:23 Lazarus was in Abraham's bosom. Which most think he was also saved before Christ died. I believe His death was planned before the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4, et al) and because He made that promise in the Garden of Eden (Gen 3:15). Yes, there were prophets and He proved them true. I disagree with Doc that He died only for the elect. John 3:16 says the world. For me, it is a minor issue ... only the elect will benefit fully by His death. I don't debate it - and cannot at the SBF. S |
