Bible Question: In the new testament, God is refered to as "God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ" on many occasions. How should this affect our relationship (or view) of God as "Father" ? |
Bible Answer: A father is the one with authority ... he disciplines, also shows compassion, care, protection, and is the provider. But, is there intimacy? I think only when we add Abba. I think of Esther ... when she approached the throne, it wasn't as the king's wife (where there is intamacy), but as a subject, even as a queen (Esther 4:11-5:3). While there are times of intamcy with God, we MUST remember of the positional differences. |
