Bible Question: According the Amplified version, we should not perplex a weak beliver with discussions. Should we then keep silent? How should we help a weak believer in accordance with the bible? |
Bible Answer: Hi, cklamhk! Perhaps the NKJV is a bit more helpful in understanding this verse: Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things. (Romans 14:1) We can offer support to the new believer by helping them understand those things in the Scriptures that are clear. (And, by the way, their are a great many things in Scripture that are very clear.) New believers are susceptible to confusion, as they are just at the beginning stages of learning how to judge their own behaviors in the light of Scripture. In Him, Doc |
