Bible Question: I am not all against government authorities, I live them with all my heart! but I would like someone enlighten me a little more on this passage. I need someone to explain to me, if this scripture verse is true, why is there so much police brutality and corruption in the government? Is this scrpture verse saying that these people suppose to be "Christians" or that it is God's will that they be there? |
Bible Answer: Greetings humility, Try applying this verse to whom it was intended, the Jewish people and the gentiles who were beginning to join in the Temple and/or synagogue worship. I believe it refers directly to Sanhedrin and Pharisaic authorities. That doesn't mean to say that no civil authority was ever put in place by God, the Bible states emphatically that He did (and I'm sure still does), but not all are in authority by His directive - there is a prince of this world, after all. |
