Bible Question:
Would you please explain the "gift of exhortation"? (as it is used in the present day) Evelyn wing2@comcast.net |
Bible Answer: Hi Evelyn, The gift of exhortation is, quite simply, encouragement from the Holy Spirit given to a believer through another believer. This may be encouragement to endure through an especially difficult trial, or the encouragement, urging, to repent of some sin, or to be reconciled to another. When you share the Word of God with another, and the Holy Spirit gives you that Word, and the application to share with that person, and your words go out in the Lord's power, and impact that persons life, I believe that is the operation of the gift of encouragement, or exhortation. I hope this helps! Love in Christ, Mark |
