AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 12:3 ¶ For by the grace [of God] given to me I say to everyone of you not to think more highly of himself [and of his importance and ability] than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has apportioned to each a degree of faith [and a purpose designed for service]. |
Bible Question: Jesus has give every man, the measure of faith. How much is a measure? Is it a concrete amount (like a cup?). For sure its more then the grain of mustard seed, which is all that is needed to move mountains! |
Bible Answer: Dear Ginger, This verse is couched in a passage that is talking about spiritual gifts. Paul is talking about faith as the channel to all other graces. For the saved person it is the means by which grace is bestowed. The redeemed are not given all faith, but a portion -- just as we aren't given all knowledge. However, all of the redeemed are gifted some faith. Certainly it is faith sufficient unto salvation, sufficient unto obedience, sufficient unto sanctification, and sufficient unto the accomplishment of God's eternal purpose.
