When I think of self esteem, I always think of the verse Philippians 2:3, which states (KJV) "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." The ESV puts it this way, "Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves." The Bible assumes that people have more than enough "self esteem."
