Bible Question:
Today, I've just heard someone say that it is MORE IMPORTANT to weep with those who weep THAN to rejoice with those who rejoice. Usually I think it is generally true. However, when I rethink about the verse, there is no such comparison in it. So, I started to ponder if the above statement is biblical or not. Your input is much appreciated. Shalom Azure |
Bible Answer: Isn't it easier to feel genuine sorrow for someone when they are struggling than it is to rejoice with someone? No matter what we are going through, almost all of us can feel sorrow for a person when they are struggling or have suffered a lost. Yet, rejoicing with someone can be difficult if you are going through a hard time. So, I wouldn't say the first part of the scripture is any more important than the last. I think the last is harder to fulfill than the first. Either situation we are to bear one another's burdens, good or bad. Gal 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
