AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. |
Subject: is masterbation a sin |
Bible Note: pberardi :: In the immediate context of Matthew 5:30 Jesus is speaking of adultery, not masturbation. Inasmuch as Scripture is silent on masturbation -- neither the word itself nor description of the act is found in Holy Writ -- it is quite a leap into eisegetic interpretation to read into Matthew 5:30 that Jesus was speaking of masturbation. The aim of this post is not to endorse masturbation, but to point out that your "proof text" in this instance falls short of proof. --Hank |
