AMPLIFIED 2015 | Romans 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. |
Bible Question: Where in the Bible does it tell us not to sin? If we are inherently sinful and Jesus has forgiven us our sins - can we not sin and trust in the Lord to forgive us? |
Bible Answer: Greetings kingi, The whole bible tells us not to sin. To tell you where a particular verse is I would need to know what type of sin you want a verse for. It is true that Jesus will forgive you for your sins, but in order to be forgiven you must be repentent (change the way you think and act) of the sin you committed. If you continue to commit that sin then you are not repentent and not forgiven. Romans 12:1 tells us that we are to present or surrender our bodies as a living sacrifice. This means that we must put away our old ways and take on the ways of Christ. Rom 12:2 says "Don't become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants-what is good, pleasing, and perfect." If we continue in sin we are none of these. prayon |
