Bible Note: BradK: Thank you for the website of Dr. Geisler, it was very informative. I have read many articles that are based in emotion and a theory that had some serious questions unanswered. Dr Geisler has presented an excllent debate as to why he disagrees with Hanegraaff. For me these men who do a good job of defending their positions with what they call Biblical truth, and each view is well documented with Scripture, only makes most believers more confused. I understand the four views, and I see merrit in only three of the four views. In reality as I understand what Jesus said in Matthew 24 we are to be ready, and not be tossed around but to be prepared for the return of Jesus Christ. I have no idea when Jesus will return, nor would I venture a guess. I do think that believers who make a living from publishing fiction books mixed with bits and snipets of biblical truth have brought to light the need to know what the Bible really says. In the same token the fictional LEFT BEHIND books have caused much confusion, having been taken for being totally Biblical. On the other hand I have heard that there are those who made a profession of faith In Jesus Christ because they read the Left Behind books. I find myself in the "in between area". We most likely will have to wait and see if Jesus Christ returns in our lifetime, or will I see Jesus Christ when I pass from this life to be with Him. I honestly don't have any idea which it will be. As I said before in a note in this thread, Hanegraaff's book will be one that will bring some attention to him, I am not sure if it will be bad or good, but as peopke read his book there will be a strong reaction one way or the other. Blessings to you Brad. justme |
