Bible Question:
Title: How can we know if Bible was not fabricated? I am very sorry for asking this question; but I have been seeking God and the meaning of life for years, and I don't want to simply have a blind-faith. My question is how we know Bible was really God’s words. One argument to support Bible’s infallibility is that Bible was written by many different authors at different times while amazingly it is consistent. However, if you read the books of Nazy or Socialism, they are also amazingly consistent. The reason is that the latter authors have read all the prior books and thus can develop new books that are consistent. Or books that were inconsistent could not be published or included in the collection. I don’t mean to offend Christians; but how can we know that Bible, as a collection by a books written by humans (not Jesus or God himself), was not created in this way. Once again, I like many teachings in Bible, such as the Golden Rule etc. But I really want to address this concern so that I can convince myself to develop stronger faith in Bible and Christian. |
Bible Answer: There are several good books, How We Got the Bible, Origin of the Bible, Complete Guide to Bible Translations, just to name a few that I have read. Once you read and understand how we got the Bible, you will understand that only through divine inspiration and the God preserving His Word through the generations does the Bible exist today. The history of the Bible is fascinating and you can see God's hand involved throughout history. Brad |
