Bible Question (short): Why did Jesus preach repentance?: |
Question (full): gbennett76, Your outragious remark: "Christians are free to .... .... But homosexuality is somehow taboo. " Do you realize that you mention two separate groups, since a homosexual is no longer a "homosexual" after repenting from homosexuallity? We are not "Christians" until "after repenting" and accepting Jesus Christ. In your reasoning is it not "taboo" to cheat on your spouse? Why did Jesus preach repentance?: Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Luke 24 44 Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me." 45And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. 46Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise[8] from the dead the third day, 47and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
