Bible Question: what is the Glory of God |
Bible Answer: Hi Minval, Welcome to the forum. I believe that Jesus is the glory of God and is indeed the Son of the Majestic Glory. Romans 1:16ff, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousnes of (God) is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written "But the righteous man shall live by faith." ..."For even though they knew God/ they did not *glorify Him as God, or give thanks;..."and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible (God) for an image in the form of corruptible man..." 1 Peter 1:17ff, "And if you address as Father the One/ who impartially judges according to each man's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay upon earth; not redeemed [ransomed] with perishable things...but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblesmished and spotless, the blood of Christ. For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you who through (Him) are believers in God, who raised Him from the dead and *gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God." John 7:17, "If any man is willing to do (His) will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself. He [that is, he] who speaks from himself *seeks his own glory; but He who is *seeking the glory of the One who sent Him,/ He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him....Why do you seek to kill (Me)? 2 Peter 1:17, "For when (He) received honor and *glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, "This is My/ *Beloved Son with whom (I) am well pleased"-- Ephesians 3:14-21, "For this reason, I bow my knees before the (Father), from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His *glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ/ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to (Him) be the *glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen. Parentheses mine for comparison of Persons and verses. From the heart, Ray |
