Bible Note: MJH: It's always a pleasure for me to exchange ideas with you. I respect your views and appreciate the fact that your posts cause me to think. You write: "She was a Jewish believer who loved the one True God and served Him, prayed to Him, knew His Word and followed it as best she knew how. She did know about Jesus, but in her words, "He hasn't spoke to her yet." As He apparently did for her daughter." In Acts 4 in the NIV we read: 5 The next day the rulers, elders and teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and the other men of the high priest's family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: "By what power or what name did you do this?"...8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: "Rulers and elders of the [Jewish] people...12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." What group of people was Peter speaking to here? Were they Jews or Gentiles? Did he not say to the Jews, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved"? Grace to you, Kalos |
