Bible Question: could someone explain acts 7 to me. was it indeed Paul as Saul who flogged Stephen? |
Bible Answer: Dear it is written, Just like your user name "it is written"...:-) Scripture does not show Saul actively participated in stoning or flogging Stephen. His name was first mentioned in verse 58 where he was taking care of the garments of those persecutors. But in verse 60, Saul was pleased that Stephen be stoned to death. It is reasonable to believe that Saul belonged to the angry crowd. Chapter 9 has explicitly confirmed Saul's persecution on the believers. Hope the above is helpful. Shalom Azure |
