AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 5:34 But a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law [of Moses], highly esteemed by all the people, stood up in the Council (Sanhedrin, Jewish High Court) and ordered that the men be taken outside for a little while. |
Bible Question: In Acts 5:34-39, we read of Gamaliel addressing the Council regarding what to do about Peter and the apostles. Was the advice of Gamaliel sound advice? If so, should we disregard all followings or cults so that they can 'prove' themselves by standing the test of time? |
Bible Answer: I suppose we could say that Gamaliel gave good advice-but I would not use this advice when it comes to test the truthfulness of cults or other world religions-there are many false religions that have lasted for ages and they are to be rejected. |
