NASB | Acts 3:20 and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 3:20 and that He may send [to you] Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you, |
Bible Question: What is the sigificance of the added note in proof ( even Jesus). It confuses me as to mean a messiah appointed even for Jesus. What is the implification? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Allan! What the translators are trying to bring out in Acts 3:20 is that Jesus is the Christ. "Even" here basically means "that is". So, the verse is saying, "God will send you the Christ, that is Jesus, who is the Christ" (Paraphrase). I hope this helps! Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
