Bible Question: did jesus die for the world? |
Bible Answer: Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: 2 Cor 5:14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died; 2 Cor 5:15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, Acts 26:23 that the Christ was to suffer, and that by reason of His resurrection from the dead He would be the first to proclaim light both to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles." Sin is a disease, an infection, that has entered the flesh mind of all people in this world by Adam's submission to Satan's lie. Because we (our souls) are chained, from birth, in submission to the desires of our sinfully infected flesh which is under the authority of Satan, we are slaves to sin which results in death (eternal separation of our souls from God, our source of all true life and blessing). Jhn 8:34 Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. This desease is terminal and will cause the flesh to die and eventually the world as we know it. Because all flesh will die, it is under the authority of the one who has power over death which is Satan. Hbr 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: When God came into this world in the form of Jesus Christ, He came in the form of the sinful flesh that Satan had authority over. Jesus, being God(the Son), overcame His flesh's strong desire for survival and fear of death, He allowed Himself to be crucified and suffer death. After three days He was resurrected, both spiritually and physically by the Holy Spirit and sitting at the right hand of the Father with the Father's approval of His sacrifice, He has taken all authority over death away from Satan for anyone in this world who is willing to commit their soul to Him, believing that Jesus' great work on the cross and His resurrection has done all that is necessary to purchase them from the chains of sin and death. In believing in Jesus they allow His Holy Spirit to dwell within, mingle and give life to their spirit. Because of our love and gratefulness to our Savior, our souls (who we are) becomes a slave to our spirit, which is indwellt and influenced by the Holy Spirit, instead of being a slave to the flesh, which is infected by sin. Through the great work of His Son,Jesus Christ, God has provided to all the world, not only a way to escape this eternal separation of our souls from Him (death), but a way to everlasting life in His Kingdom and in His presents for our spirit and soul with the promise of a new and Christ like body. Phil 3:21 who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself. God's salvation, which comes only through faith in Jesus Christ, is God's free gift of grace for all the world. Since it is a gift of faith (or anticipation of things unseen, Hbr 11:1)it is available only while we are encased in this flesh. "Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!" Psa. 103:1 Bob |
