Bible Question: could someone explain acts 7 to me. was it indeed Paul as Saul who flogged Stephen? |
Bible Answer: Greetings It is Written, Acts 22:20 "And when the blood of Your witness Stephen was being shed, I also was standing by approving, and watching out for the coats of those who were slaying him.'" (NASB) From this verse, we know that Paul did not stone or flog Stephen himself, but he was still guilty because he gave his 'hearty agreement' (Acts 8:1, NASB) of those who were doing the killing by watching out for their coats.
