NASB | Acts 21:38 "Then you are not the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a revolt and led the four thousand men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?" |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 21:38 "Then you are not [as I assumed] the Egyptian who some time ago stirred up a rebellion and led those 4,000 men of the Assassins out into the wilderness?" |
Bible Question: where in the Bible can I learn about the 4000 men led to the wilderness? I'm not sure what is being told here. |
Bible Answer: Reference to "the Egyptian" and his revolutionary followers "the Assasins" or "Sicari" that is "daggermen" is found in the writings of the Jewish Historian Josephus. No other mention of these men is found in Scripture. |
