Bible Question: Can someone explain this to me? What is the Holy Ghost and How do we get it? Are we required in order to get in to heaven? |
Bible Answer: Hello Sahara, The Holy Ghost/Holy Spirit is the third person of the Triune God--Father Son, and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to all believers when they receive Christ. At that time you are sealed with the Spirit and receive Him as a down-payment of our inheritance in Christ. Ephes. 1:13-14 (ESV) In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, [14] who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. Also, we are baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ. 1 Cor. 12:13 (ESV) For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body— Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
