AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 2:38 And Peter said to them, "Repent [change your old way of thinking, turn from your sinful ways, accept and follow Jesus as the Messiah] and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ because of the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. |
Bible Question:
Scripture ... Act 2:38, 10:48; Rom 6:3 ... jcsav, In post 142735, you said, "If you asked anyone that have been baptized in Jesus name whether they have received the Holy Ghost are not. Those who have will say so. Those who have not is usually trueful to say they have not." Again, you disagree with God ... in this very verse. I suggest you read it and the context, as well as the other verses I cited. What level have you studied Scripture by yourself? I ask because some of the things you say are teachings of others and NOT Biblical. Searcher |
Bible Answer: In Matt: 19-20 Jesus said this "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Now there is a lot of confidence put in what Paul, and Peter says, but remember this one thing, Jesus left us the same instructions that he left for them, and Jesus also told us through his word this John 16:13- Howbeit when he, the spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. Jesus left us a perfect outline to go by, and sent the Holy Ghost to lead us and guide us. It is no crime to listen to what Peter and Paul and others has told us , but Jesus changes not, He is the same today, yesterday, and for evermore. |
