Bible Note: Dalcent, this is a good post, and since you registered with the forum on my birthday, I want to say that I've been studying Catholic theology lately and that your last sentence is right on the money. The Catholics have a gold mine of theology that is lying untapped by both Catholics and Protestants. I advise all in this forum to hang up them fighting togs and dig in. Also, unbeknownst to many, there is a robust, modern evangelical movement within the Catholic Church; and outward weirdness notwithstanding, I'm finding the difference between the two doctrines so incredibly small and misunderstood as to be almost irrelevant. One of the prime ememies of this misunderstanding comes from ignorance of the history of Chritianity, an ignorance which condemns us to repeat it. It's a shame that so many, both Protestant and Catholic, don't take a second to glance over the fence they're so contantly and so thoughtlessly building. Colin |
