Subject: Those who call shall be saved |
Bible Note: Yes, one must call on the name of the Lord. Peter, in his Pentecost Day sermon, quoted those words from the Old Testament. What is the Bible approved pattern for doing so? Peter's sermon pierces the listeners to the heart, and they cried out, "what shall we do?" Peter did not simply say, "I have already told you. You must call on the name of the Lord." Peter said, "Repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." There is a particular way that God wants us to respond to Him. |
