AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 19:15 But the evil spirit retorted, "I know and recognize and acknowledge Jesus, and I know about Paul, but as for you, who are you?" |
Bible Question: Thank you john for your response I totally agree that our focus should be getting more people to Christ and not on demons and the trickery of satan.I do have another question what group of people was Jesus talking about in Matthew 7:22 was it people who were once following Christ but backslid? |
Bible Answer: Hi Jchelve: That would depend entirely whether salvation is something that can be lost. Some think a backslider is someone who has lost their salvation; but the Bible teaches that salvation cannot be lost. If you trust Christ you are indeed saved and saved forever! (2 Corinthians 5:21; John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-9) so I would say to your question, that the answer is no, it is someone who has not received salvation at all. The term backslider is not found in the new testament, but in the old testament it refers to Israel because they continually rejected God, rejected His Word, and turned away from Him, (Jeremiah 8:8-9) God bless John |
