AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 19:1 It happened that while Apollos was in Corinth, Paul went through the upper [inland] districts and came down to Ephesus, and found some disciples. |
Bible Question:
Where these people that Paul found Christians? I realize that there knowledge/beliefs may have not been complete, but after all, they are called disciples. Thanks and Regards, Huron |
Bible Answer: Greetings Huron, I do not believe that the twelve men in this passage were so called "Christians" as of yet, since they did not hardly know or understand the faith that they were bapitized in. But when they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus (v.5), the Holy Spirit, of Whom they knew nothing about in verse 2, came upon them in power in verse 6, "officially" notorizing their baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessings to you, Makarios |
