Bible Question:
Hi, Does the fulness of Deity rest in the flesh? It was written here in this post, "The fulness of the Holy Spirit rested upon him without measure and worked through his body." The lower case "him" and "his" suggest to me that the author is regarding Christ as a "man". Colossians 2:8, "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the (h)*Head over all rule and authority;" I see this baptism and circumcision as accomplished by the Spirit, that is, by the Man Jesus Christ. Col 1:28, "And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. 29 And for this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power which mightily works with me." Romans 1:16-25 says that we should worship and serve the Creator rather than the creature. From the heart, Ray |
Bible Answer: "Romans 1:16-25 says that we should worship and serve the Creator rather than the creature" Hi, Ray! There will always be those who seek to somehow ground Christ to the finite existence of man. They seek to demonstrate the Creator as a mere creature and they refuse to understand that the Word's incarnation was for the purpose of lifting us up. (Matthew 20:28) They fail to see that, even as a child, Jesus separated Himself from the world as He knew His Divine Purpose. (Luke 2:49) I think that part of the problem is that, as Jesus contemporaries, people get caught up in the letter of the Law and they miss the message completely: The Word was the real light that gives light to everyone; he was coming into the world. He wa in the world that had come into being through him, and the world did not recognise him. He came to his own and his own people did not accept him. (John 1:9-11) It is our (Christians) commision to let His Fullness be known! (Matthew 28:19) God Bless! Angel |
