Bible Question (short): Spirit baptism? |
Question (full): Hi, Does the fulness of Deity rest in the flesh? It was written here in this post, "The fulness of the Holy Spirit rested upon him without measure and worked through his body." The lower case "him" and "his" suggest to me that the author is regarding Christ as a "man". Colossians 2:8, "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ. 9 For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form, 10 and in Him you have been made complete, and He is the (h)*Head over all rule and authority;" I see this baptism and circumcision as accomplished by the Spirit, that is, by the Man Jesus Christ. Col 1:28, "And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. 29 And for this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power which mightily works with me." Romans 1:16-25 says that we should worship and serve the Creator rather than the creature. From the heart, Ray |
