Bible Question (short): What does your and your household mean? |
Question (full): Acts 16:31 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household. NKJV The chapter is referencing the time when Paul was in prison and the there was a quake that caused the doors to open and the guards are worried and Paul told them to "believe." I know the promise of salvation is to all people and whoever believes will be saved. I would like input regarding "you and your household." Since many household have unsaved loved ones, I am reading this to mean they are protected from the devil's weapons while they are in the household. Not a guarantee that the loved one will accept the free gift of salvation. I am sure many loved ones of Christians have passed away rejecting Christ. |
