Subject: Are you Saved? |
Bible Note: What Must You Do To Be Saved? I've got a feeling that there are many who may come to this website, and may be curious about Christianity, or may not know anything about Jesus Christ, or who may have heard about Him, and might even be involved in a church, but still do not know that they are saved. If you died tonight, would you be sure through and through that you would be with the Lord Jesus Christ? In Acts 16, Paul and Silas received a vision to go to Macedonia, and to Macedonia they went. And there they found a slave-girl who was demon possessed, but her masters were making a profit off of her because the demon inside of her gave her the ability of fortune-telling. Now Paul saw this and commanded the demon spirit to come out of her! And when it left, the masters of the slave-girl instantly lost their income. So they threw Paul and Silas in jail. But while Paul and Silas were in jail, an earthquake came, the prison house was shaken, and all of the prisoner's chains were unfastened so that they could escape. The jailer instantly tried to kill himself, since his life would be at stake should he lose a single prisoner. And Paul admonished him not to kill himself. Then, the jailer asks, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Now, he was partly asking this question since he would assuredly be killed by the Romans, but I sense a bit of a deeper cry from his heart than just to save his life. He wanted to know about the way to salvation, since he would assuredly be killed. And Paul says, "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved".. Are you sure, that if you died tonight, that you would be saved? Everyone has sinned in their lifetime! (Romans 3:23) And I am included! I have sinned, but the Lord Jesus has forgiven me of all of my sin! There is no need to put it off any longer, come as you are, right now! The Lord will accept you as you are, right now. The penalty for our sin is death (Romans 6:23). But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: that while we were sinners, He sent His one and only Son to die for us on the cross! (Romans 5:8; John 3:16) Therefore, Christ paid the penalty for our sin on the cross (1 Peter 3:18). Jesus Christ paid our sin debt to God in full! Jesus made it so that if we repent of our sins (Acts 3:19) and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior by faith (Ephesians 2:8) and confess Him as Lord and Savior of our lives (Romans 10:9), that we would be saved! Everyone who accepts Him as Lord and Savior and confesses Him as Lord will be saved! (Romans 10:13) So if you are out there tonight, whereever you are, and you have responded to what I have written tonight, and would like to be assured of your salvation in Jesus Christ, right now, then I ask you to pray the following prayer with me: "Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I need Your forgiveness. I know that You died on the cross for me. I ask You to forgive me of my sins and help me turn away from them. I invite You into my life and into my heart. I will trust in You as Savior and Lord from now on and follow You as Lord. Thank you for saving me, Lord! Amen." Please let me know if you prayed this prayer in earnest, and accepted the Lord into your heart! |
