AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 16:15 And when she was baptized, along with her household, she pleaded with us, saying, "If you have judged me and decided that I am faithful to the Lord [a true believer], come to my house and stay." And she persuaded us. |
Subject: were infants baptized? |
Bible Note: Hi, brother Ed... Constantine marched his troops into a river and declared them baptized. Vladimir forced a city's entire population into a river for the same purpose. This practice was repeated by Clovis, Charlemagne, Patrick, and others whose names don't come as readily to mind. I even read that the Portugese used this method of Christianizing the Africans that they were shipping out of Angola in the seventeen hundreds. In the light of history, maybe a few of our arguments make a *little* more sense! :-) Nevertheless, I agree with the general sense of your post. In Him, Doc |
