Bible Note: Hi with faith i walk, Thank you for answering my post. You have said that Acts 15 deals with whether the message of salvation should be given to the Gentiles. If you reread it I think that you will agree with me that the thrust of the chapter is rather whether they needed to be circumcised in order to be saved. The Gentile proselytes were hearing the gospel from the beginning. Acts 2:10. Acts 10 shows us that Peter was to consider the Gentiles as worthy of hearing these things; namely that "we are saved throught the grace of the Lord Jesus", both Jews and Gentiles. Acts 15:9,10. Our hearts are cleansed through faith. Also, verse 5 tells us that "certain ones of the sect of the Pharisees who had believed, stood up, saying, "It is necessary to circumcise them, and to direct them to observe the Law of Moses". But after looking into the matter even the burden of obeying the Law of Moses was not a prerequisite for salvation. The law of God is now written on our hearts. I would compare Acts 15:8 with Romans 7:22. Acts 15:8, "And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, giving them the *holy *spirit, just as (He) also did to us; and He made no distinction between us and them, cleasing their hearts by faith." Romans 7:22, "For I joyfully concur with the law of (God) in the inner man...v25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!" 1) Why did you put spirit in lower case when you wrote "The spirit represented here is the Holy Spirit"?
