Does it say anywhere in the bible that "You must choose to believe" not just "You must believe" if so where? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Shearecj.. It always is interesting to me how this question comes up. Christians have been asking it for about as long as their have been Christians! Did God choose us? Yes. Did we choose God? Yes. God chose us before creation (Eph 1:4). By regeneration (Ezek 36:27), we are enabled to choose Him. He has done this. No corpse can do a single thing to bring itself to life. We can't pat ourselves on the back and say, "Well, at least I had the good sense to believe!" No, that is contrary to the teaching of Scripture (John 6:44).
