AMPLIFIED 2015 | Acts 15:22 ¶ Then the apostles and the elders, together with the whole church, decided to select some of their men to go to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas--Judas, who was called Barsabbas, and Silas [also called Silvanus, both], leading men among the brothers. |
Bible Question: Is there any thing in the Bible that speaks of not having committees to get the order of your church and things done for God...in word if you don't have some plan folks won't know what to do...I know God wants our best in what ever we are called to do? 100 thanks |
Bible Answer: Dear Grace, I think if you understand the history of the church you will find that committees are frequently used. You just won't find them being called that. The church often functions collectively. Think how often there are plurality of men chosen -- disciples, elders, deacons, etc. In Him, Doc PS Churches down through the ages have had to fairly mundane things. For example, accounting, allocation of funds, meeting government requirements, etc. Of course, no one keeps things like meeting minutes for generations to come. What is retained are sermons and teachings. However, do not suppose that such mundane activities did not exist simply because we lack full documentation of them. Although they are essential, they are not necessarily interesting enough for people to want to save them. :-) |
