Bible Question: Based on statements of the apostle Paul in the books of Acts and 1st Corthians, State 4 reasons why the resurrection of christ is an important event. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Bubbles! 1. Paul's exhortation in Acts 13:16-41 is an excellent study! Paul shows the importance of Christ's resurrection by telling the Jews that "everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses." (Acts 13:39) 2. In Acts 14:15-18, Paul and Barnabas had to restrain and convince the crowd not to worship them, since the power of God through faith in the resurrection of Christ was revealed to them before their very eyes! (Acts 14:8-10) The importance of Christ's resurrection is illustrated by the power in which Paul speaks and the miracles that are performed, which offer testimony that he speaks of the Truth. 3. Acts 17:22-31 includes a message by Paul to the Athenians, in which he states, "because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead." (Acts 17:31) Therefore, the resurrection of Christ from the dead has brought judgment upon the world, and its 'god' (Satan), who now stands condemned, and the world must be brought to repentence! 4. In 1 Corinthians 1:4, Paul states that he will always be grateful for the grace that has been freely given from Jesus Christ; the grace that we have been given by having faith in the message of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection (1 Corinthians 1:23-24).
