Subject: What power and its purpose? |
Bible Note: Power is something that can be measured. Just like electricity, we can't see this power but we can recognize or measure its presence by what it does or by what it accomplishes. Perhaps the question is not WHAT IS this power, but HOW can we see its ability, efficiency and might? And better yet, how can WE learn to recognize that it is indeed the activity of the Holy Spirit in operation? Perhaps we are better off leaving that to God - allowing Him to rightly judge each man's works! I suggest that the things we try to accomplish for the Lord in our own power will not stand the test of our work as described in 1 Cor 3:8-16. This is because we have not depended upon what (the power of the Holy Spirit) Christ has given us to build (work as witnesses) with! I believe the real measure of the work of the Holy Spirit that we have utilized in our God- given life here on earth will not be revealed until we meet at the judgment seat of Christ. I suspect that there are many people who will not be rewarded as WE might have expected on that Day! Mommapbs |
