Bible Note: I believe your hermeneutic is in error. I cannot see any reason to suppose that Mark 16:14 is refering to John 20:24, since John is the only gospel to tell us of the "doubting Thomas" incident. Rather than inserting Judas into the mix to make the 11 count in John 20:24, the gospels are more easily harmonized by seeing Mark 16:14 as referring to John 20:26 or some later event. This also is in keeping with the orthodox understanding of Judas and his behaviour, which only ought to be questioned with solid scriptural evidences. (In my humble opinion.) |
